No approval or waiting period — you can register and start buying right away. Remember: every credit you buy is retired immediately and cannot be resold or transferred.
Create your individual account
Signing up takes a couple of minutes and needs no approval. You only need your name, email, and a secure password to get started.
Open the individual registration page. Your account is created instantly — there's no company validation or waiting period for individual participants.

- Accept the terms — review and accept the marketplace participation terms and privacy policy.
- That's it — no documents, no approval queue. Your account is ready as soon as you verify your email.
Verify your email address
After registering, Carbon2O2 sends a confirmation link to your inbox to activate your account.
- Check the inbox for the email address you used to register.
- Open the email from Carbon2O2 and click "Verify my account" to activate.
- Don't see it within 5 minutes? Check your spam or junk folder — the sender is noreply@carbon2o2.com.
The verification link expires after 24 hours. If it expired, request a new one from the login page via "Resend verification email."
Browse and buy carbon credits
Sign in, explore verified projects on the marketplace, and choose how many credits you'd like to buy to offset your footprint.
- Browse verified projects — each listing shows the project type, methodology, price per credit, and verifier.
- Choose your quantity — one credit represents one tonne of CO?e. Pick the amount that matches what you want to offset.
- Check out securely — review your order and complete payment. Prices are shown in USD.
A common reference point is around 4–5 tonnes of CO?e per person per year, but your footprint depends on travel, energy use and lifestyle. You can buy any amount, any time.
Your credits are retired immediately
This is the key thing to understand as an individual participant: the moment your purchase completes, your credits are permanently retired in your name.
Permanent retirement, on purchase
Retiring a credit means it is taken out of circulation forever so its climate benefit is counted only once — for you. It's what makes your offset real.
Because your credits are retired the instant you buy them, they cannot be resold, transferred, or traded. Individual purchases are for offsetting your own footprint, not for holding or reselling. If you want to buy and hold credits, you'd need a Credit Holder account instead.
Download your retirement certificate
Every retirement generates a certificate you can download and keep as proof of your offset — useful for personal records or sharing.
- Find your purchase under My retirements in your account dashboard.
- Each retirement shows the project, quantity, vintage year, and a unique retirement reference.
- Click Download certificate to save a PDF record of your retired credits.
Your certificate is a record evidencing the retirement of verified environmental assets on your behalf. You can return any time to buy and retire more.
