01
Register

Create your Credit Holder account

Register your company and personal details on the Carbon2O2 platform. Have your company's legal name, EIN/tax ID, and registered address ready before you start.

Registration form

Open the Credit Holder registration page and make sure to select the Credit Holder profile type on the form.

Open registration form =>
  1. Personal info — full name, email address, phone number, and a secure password.
  2. Company details — legal name, entity type (LLC, Corp, etc.), country of incorporation, EIN or tax ID, and registered address.
  3. Carbon credit category — the type of credits your projects will generate (e.g. abandoned wells, reforestation, renewable energy).
02

After registering, Carbon2O2 sends a confirmation link to your inbox to activate your account.

  1. Check the inbox for the email address you provided during registration.
  2. Open the email from Carbon2O2 and click "Verify my account" to activate.

04
Approval

Wait for company validation

The Carbon2O2 admin team reviews and approves all Credit Holder companies before they can create projects.

Admin review in progress

After registration, your company profile enters the review queue. This typically takes 1–3 business days. You'll get an email once approved.

  1. The team verifies your company's legal entity, EIN/tax ID, and credit category eligibility.
  2. If more documents are needed, an admin will email you a list of required materials.
  3. Once approved, your status changes to "Verified Holder" and you unlock project creation.

While waiting, you can complete your company profile and explore the marketplace. Approval emails come from admin@carbon2o2.com.

05
Create

Create your first project

Carbon2O2 supports two types of carbon credit projects. Choose the one that fits your situation.

Executed

Executed project

Operations are already underway or complete and you hold a recognized credit methodology (e.g. ACR, VCS, Gold Standard). Credits list at full market price upon approval.

+ Create executed project
Future

Future project

Project is planned but not yet operational. Set a funding goal and offer discounted future credits. When the goal is met, mark as executed — credits upgrade to full price, rewarding early buyers.

+ Create future project
  1. Fill in the project's name, location, description, and credit methodology (e.g. ACR-VM0049 for abandoned wells).
  2. Upload documentation: Environmental Impact Assessment, Project Design Document, and any third-party verification reports.
  3. Set the total credits, price per credit, and — for future projects — the funding goal.
  4. Submit for admin review. You'll get a confirmation email once it's approved and visible on the marketplace.
Project awaiting admin approval

Once submitted, your project enters the review queue. The team verifies documentation and eligibility. Approval typically takes 1–3 business days. You can't issue credits until the project is approved.

06
Issue

Issue carbon credits for sale

Once your project is approved, you can create and list carbon credits on the marketplace.

  1. Select the approved project this credit batch belongs to.
  2. Enter the number of credits, the price per credit (USD), and the vintage year.
  3. Confirm the issuance securely — this authorizes the credit batch and records it.
  4. Credits are now visible on the marketplace and available to approved participants.

For future projects, credits list at a discounted pre-sale price. When you reach your funding goal and mark the project executed, all credits automatically upgrade to the full verified price, and buyers are notified.

07
Monitor

Monitor your project dashboard

Track sales, funding progress, document compliance, and credit price from your project's detail view.

  1. Credit price history — track how your credit value has evolved since listing.
  2. Sales & revenue — see individual transactions, buyers, and total earnings.
  3. Funding progress (future projects) — monitor how close you are to your goal.
  4. Document compliance — track which verification documents are submitted or pending.
  5. Timeline & milestones — view upcoming audit dates and lifecycle events.

Final admin approval

The team performs a final review of your project documentation and issuance details. Once approved, your credits become fully live and available on the marketplace, and you'll receive a confirmation email with your public listing URL.

Once your project is live, approved participants can acquire your credits, hold them in digital custody, and retire them permanently. You receive settlement for every sale securely through the platform.
