Credit Holder
Onboarding Guide
Everything you need to register your company, create carbon credit projects, and list your first credits on the Carbon2O2 marketplace — step by step.
Steps 5 and 6–8 include an admin approval wait — plan for 1–3 business days per review cycle.
Create your Credit Holder account
Register your company and personal details on the Carbon2O2 platform.
The registration form will ask for both your personal information and your company details. Have your company's legal name, EIN/tax ID, and registered address ready before you start.
Click the button below to open the Credit Holder registration page. Make sure to select the Credit Holder profile type on the form.
Open Registration FormPersonal info — full name, email address, phone number, and a secure password.
Company details — legal company name, entity type (LLC, Corp, etc.), country of incorporation, EIN or tax ID, and registered address.
Carbon credit category — the type of credits your projects will generate (e.g. Abandoned Wells, Reforestation, Renewable Energy).
Verify your email address
After registering, Carbon2O2 will send a confirmation link to your inbox.
After submitting the registration form, check your email inbox at the address you provided.
Open the email from Carbon2O2 and click the "Verify my account" link to activate your account.
If you don't see the email within 5 minutes, check your spam or junk folder. The sender will be noreply@carbon2o2.com.
The verification link expires after 24 hours. If it has expired, you can request a new one from the login page by clicking "Resend verification email".
Sign in to the platform
Access your Credit Holder dashboard with your registered credentials.
Connect your crypto wallet
Carbon2O2 uses blockchain to register and trade carbon credits. A MetaMask wallet is required.
Your wallet is your on-chain identity on Carbon2O2. It is used to sign credit issuances, receive payments in C2O2 tokens, and verify project ownership. Without a connected wallet, you cannot issue credits.
Install the MetaMask browser extension from metamask.io and create or import a wallet.
Follow the MetaMask for C2O2 setup guide to add the correct network and token contract address.
Inside your Carbon2O2 dashboard, go to Wallet Settings and click "Connect Wallet". Approve the connection in the MetaMask popup.
Confirm your wallet address appears in the platform header. Your wallet is now linked to your Credit Holder account.
Wait for company validation
The Carbon2O2 admin team reviews and approves all Credit Holder companies before they can create projects.
Admin Review in Progress
After completing your registration and connecting your wallet, your company profile enters the admin review queue. This process typically takes 1–3 business days. You will receive an email notification once your company is approved.
The admin team verifies your company's legal entity, EIN/tax ID, and carbon credit category eligibility.
If additional documents are needed, an admin will contact you via email with a list of required materials.
Once approved, your account status changes to "Verified Holder" and you unlock the ability to create projects.
While waiting, you can complete your company profile and explore the marketplace. Approval emails come from admin@carbon2o2.com.
Create your first project
Carbon2O2 supports two types of carbon credit projects. Choose the one that fits your situation.
Executed Project
Operations are already underway or complete and you have been granted a carbon credit methodology (e.g. ACR, VCS, Gold Standard). Credits are listed at full market price immediately upon approval.
+ Create Executed ProjectFuture Project
Project is planned but not yet operational. Set a fundraising goal and sell discounted future credits. When the goal is met, mark as executed — credits upgrade to full price, rewarding early buyers.
+ Create Future ProjectFill in the project's name, location, description, and carbon credit methodology (e.g. ACR-VM0049 for abandoned wells).
Upload required documentation: Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Project Design Document (PDD), and any third-party verification reports.
Set the total number of credits, price per credit, and — for future projects — the fundraising goal amount.
Submit the project for admin review. You'll receive a confirmation email once it is approved and visible on the marketplace.
Project Awaiting Admin Approval
Once submitted, your project enters the admin review queue. The team will verify your documentation and project eligibility. Approval typically takes 1–3 business days. You cannot issue credits until the project is approved.
Issue carbon credits for sale
Once your project is approved, you can mint and list carbon credits on the marketplace.
Use the credit creation form to define the quantity, price, vintage year, and associated project for each credit batch you want to list for sale.
Select the approved project this credit batch belongs to.
Enter the number of credits in this batch, the price per credit (USD), and the vintage year.
Confirm the issuance with your connected wallet — this signs the credit batch on-chain via MetaMask.
Credits are now visible in the marketplace and available for purchase by customers and investors.
For future projects, credits are listed at a discounted pre-sale price. When you reach your fundraising goal and mark the project as executed, all credits automatically upgrade to the full verified price. Buyers are notified of the upgrade.
Monitor your project dashboard
Track sales, fundraising progress, document compliance, and credit price from your project's detail view.
Your project dashboard gives you a complete view of all activity — credits sold, revenue earned, fundraising progress, buyer breakdown, and upcoming compliance deadlines.
Credit price history — track how your credit value has evolved since listing.
Sales & revenue — see individual transactions, buyer names, and total earnings.
Fundraising progress (future projects) — monitor how close you are to your capital goal.
Document compliance — track which verification documents are submitted and which are pending.
Timeline & milestones — view upcoming audit dates and project lifecycle events.
Final Admin Approval
Even after creating credits, the admin team performs a final review of your project documentation and credit issuance details. Once approved, your credits become fully live and tradeable on the marketplace. You'll receive a confirmation email with your project's public listing URL.
Congratulations — once your project is live, buyers can purchase your credits, mint them as NFTs, and trade them on the secondary market. You'll receive payments in C2O2 tokens to your connected wallet for every sale.
